The Square House Project East Austin Residency is 9 months long. Residents have access to the space from March 1st to December 1st every year.

Is there a stipend for the residency?

Accepted Answer

No, there is no financial stipend. The residency provides a rent-free studio space in East Austin. We lovingly call it The Casita!

What amenities are included in the residency space?

Accepted Answer

The residency space is a 10' x 14' studio/casita complete with:
- 100 sq. ft. loft with queen-sized bed (accessible by ladder)
- bathroom with standing shower
- mini-fridge, microwave, and dishes
- remote controlled, wall mounted AC/heating unit
- gravel driveway

Is there an opportunity to show my work at the end of the residency?

Accepted Answer

Yes, residents and finalists have the opportunity to have a group exhibition at Camiba gallery space as well as an opportunity to be showcased during the Black Art Matters show.
